That's a beast I've adopted from :iconayattn:
This girl is a Timber Araien (Ah-rye-en).

Timber Ariens are aliens and very much similiar to our big cats.

They've got noses like horses and extra arms above their front legs. Those octopus-like arms are structured more like a prehensile tail than their other limbs and are very flexible. The arms are used in all sorts of ways, but especially when climbing on top of large or medium size prey and either choking the life out of a prey animal or anchoring the Araien to whatever large creature it is trying to take down. They are also used in social grooming.

These aforementioned upper arms on Araiens are called "branches", and the sheaths on their hips/lower backs are called "nests". The nest is a sheath for the branches when they are not in use.

All of the claws on an Araien are retractable (except for a few breeds of Araien adapted to running) and very sharp, including the ones on their branch hands. The hands on the Araien's branches are like a bird of prey, they are extremely strong for their size.

I've copied some sentences from ~AyaTTn's description in her sheet over there: [link] Look it up and you'll see more of lovely Timber Araiens.

I'll call her Sunny because of her gorgeous coloration
It was real fun to draw her :D Hit download to see the work resolution! :eager:

The race is © to :iconayattn:
Sunny belongs to me!

Thank you! In fact I made two pictures but only in that one I got the anatomy well enough :D
I still can't imagine how they look like if the branches are back in their nests. Are you going to post a picture of a Timber Arien in that stance? I would love to see it!

Yes I will draw some in that stance, pretty soon. ^_^ Sorry I haven't posted a better ref for you adopters to use, I'll remember to do that next time I put out a new Garden species that is a little tricky to draw.
